I bought these to place on our back sliding doors so I'd know when the children went outside. I like the chime feature, its loud adequate to hear by way of most of the house. They go on so readily, and are affordable. The alarm feature is LOUD...so they'd work awesome for that goal, too. There is also an off switch, so that is good.
I read the other critiques before posting this one. In the very first review, the poster stated the alarm was loud sufficient to hear, in most of the residence. I feel that is a perfectly correct statement.
The reason, I am only giving these alarms an typical rating (3 star) is since I want to be in a position to hear an alarm all through all the whole house! I want the alarm to be loud sufficient to wake me in a dead sleep, from the other side of the residence! I want an intrusion alarm to be loud sufficient to wake my neighbors (and there is NO way these alarms will)!
The package claimed the alarms had been 120 db. As an individual who is familiar with decibels, I can guaranty these alrms are NOWHERE near 120 db!
