I searched about for a fairly decent surveilance process with a restricted spending budget. I thought this was it. But, I soon found not anything is what it is cut out to be. When I received this method, I read over the box, before opening it to see if anything matched the description on Amazon.com. It looked excellent, then I opened the box and soon began to be disappointed. The packaging looks superb, everything great and clean, but I soon discovered the camera base mount bracket had been not the similar as that pictured with the description! Then I started reading the manuals and searching at schematics provided, to acquire that the description is misleading in its portrail of what this method can do and how it does it, and customer service from the manufacturer is really disappointing. The provider that gives this item has poor buyer service, the sales staff does not know what they are carrying out or saying. The technical support is non-existent...you get a message to leave a call back quantity--they'll get in touch with you! What kind of technical help is that? If you do get lucky to talk with a tech, you speedily discover you created a negative option--at least I did!
This 8-channel system only records in CIF--but you do not know that until you get the package! It boasts a Sony CCT camera, but it is only a analog camera with a Sony chip inside--no way to know for positive. The camera mounting bracket and base are affordable...it is not adjustable like shown in the description--it's a 5" tube with a base and the length of the camera cables is shorter that the length of the mounting bracket with base, thus leaving the BNC connecters exposed and vulnerable to theft or disconnect/damage by any intruder. This method might be what other people tout it to be, but my expertise has been terrible and I would not advocate this item to any one! Sorry Amazon.com, but this item did not live up to your reputation!
I've owned this program for about two months.
The excellent of picture is incredibly decent in day light and OK at night utilizing infrared, it looks like a particularly grainy black and white picture. (I have the eight camera process which does not let for HD recording which the four camera process says can.)
The motion detection function is close to useless. Shadows of my trees blowing in the wind, bugs flying in front of the camera lens, and the across the street neighbor's patio light at night will turn the recorder on but men and women walking up my driveway, down my walk, and ringing my front door bell won't and I have 4 completely different cameras covering these views (and it really is a tiny region compared to most).
The recording and playback system is a dilemma also given that it saves recorded files in half hour increments for you to access. So, if the camera motion detector picks up a bug flying in front of your camera and turns the camera on for two minutes at say 4:03 - four:05 and then a real event occurs at say 4:15 it won't record it mainly because there is currently a file in the four:00 - 4:30 slot.
It will play back recordings at usual speed or two, four, or 8 instances speed. You have to manually select each and every half hour recording slot for every single camera. I have not discovered a "play back all" feature. This wouldn't be a challenge if the motion detector worked appropriately and you only had a half a dozen recordings to evaluation a day but several false recordings means a lot a perform reviewing what is been recorded.
I have not tried the live view more than the net solutions.
So what are my choices? Uninstall all the wiring run via the attic and un-mount the cameras (at considerable price) and return it? Run it in continuous record and not bother reviewing recordings till I believe a thing occurs? I haven't decided.
FYI, as usual, Amazon delivered this system in less than five days even though I utilized the free delivery solution.
