I've had this alarm for 2 months now and just ordered a second for the back door. The door alarm is Particularly loud and piercing. I would believe a burglar would not bother entering a property if this alarm was set off. If you want to use the Household mode (so that it sounds off perfect away when the door is opened), you have a option of selecting "chime" or "alarm." For the Property mode employing "alarm" you do have to activate it with your four digit code but you do not need to punch in your code if you're implementing "chime" for Household mode.
When you set it to "Away" mode, you just desire to enter your 4 digit code and leave within 45 seconds. When you come residence, you have 30 seconds to enter your code to deactivate the alarm.
