Consumer Evaluations

I wanted a low cost and uncomplicated to install program to alert me if my young daughter somehow managed to get out of the house when I was napping. We have physical safety (with locks) but I just wanted an added layer of protection.
This method met my desires perfectly. I skipped the screws and double sided tape as this method will be replaced by something extra sophisticated in a year. I put to use hot-melt glue to attach the door sensors. I find hot-melt glue much easier to eliminate than double sided tape.
Thanks to the beep generated by the alarm box, I can effortlessly test the sensors by opening a door when the technique is not armed. So far, it has been 100% dependable in my two story, 3200 square foot residence.
I have observed complaints about unreliable operation from other buyers. As with any wireless technique, your encounter might possibly differ. Any individual who lives near a radio or Tv transmitter or below power lines could uncover the wireless connections unreliable.
The major improvement I will make is to switch over to the embedded magnet sensors that my builder put into the doors and windows. The SC-10W technique would operate just fine with that. The key point lacking which will cause me to switch is the lack of a dialer that can send an alarm by wireless telephone or supervised link.
Most poor guys must be smart enough to cut your phone line.
One other wish list item is to use a rechargeable battery in the alarm unit. According to the manual, the alarm unit's battery demands to be replaced even though the unit is powered externally.
Finally, it would be wonderful if Skylink's safety and automation systems were integrated. Visualize you could define operating modes for your method.
In "evening at home mode", motion detectors would manage lighting and door sensors are disarmed.
In "sleeping mode", motion detectors would be disabled (not armed, someone may possibly desire water or to use the bathroom) and door sensors would be armed.
In "weekend at residence mode", both motion detectors and door sensors would be disarmed.
In "out buying or traveling mode", each motion detectors and door sensors would be armed and the dialer would be enabled.
In "party mode", outdoor lights would be turned on at sunset and private areas of the residence would be alarmed.

We bought this technique to pair the door sensors, remotes and the siren with an SC-100 program. The instructions to pair these pieces are not supplied in the manual that came out of the box, but it is straightforward to download them from Skylink web-site for each person piece. (I initially made the siren unpaired from the other 4 pieces it came with.) General the setup was really smooth.
The siren beeps when I disarm the key unit, but it does not beep when I arm it. This is about the only complaint I have with it. The siren is especially loud as soon as the alarm is tripped. You'll wish you did not preserve the remotes next to the siren if you trigger it by mistake. :)
